Jim Jones and the Peoples Temple.Name another contemporary example of a False Messiah?
This one comes in the form of a wide sweeping movement, which looks good, but alters the focus and direction of the church.

It's called the emerging church movement. Warrenism, or the Purpose Driven belief goes right along with it.

The idea is to bring God's Kingdom here on Earth, that is the focus, it takes their focus OFF Jesus Christ. IT doesn't sound like it's wrong, but the direction is skewed. It's Christianity for the masses, marketed.

I think we're going to hear alot more of this, especially since it appears to move people towards a one world religion.

I haven't located it yet, but I know there is an emerging church manifesto. That should be an eye opener, to compare it to orthodox doctrine.

the wacko from waco, david koresh
Comon, similar to Jesus? Do a little homework before answering. I don't believe in Jesus being the son of ';God';, well, technically according to Christianity, we are all sons and daughters of ';God';, so I guess he was the son of ';God';. But he was not starting a cult, if Jesus came back alive today, he wouldn't even know what the word Christianity meant. He was a Jew, he was not trying to start a new religion, he was trying to fix the corruption of the Jewish Temple at the time. He didn't want people to whorship him, he wanted them to whorship ';God';. It was the wacko's that wrote the stories after his death that got all fictional about it. Give the guy some credit.
That was Jim Jones. Similar to what Jesus was.
