a book says so. it must be true. just like lord of the rings and homers odessy. and the other countless works history.
Oh no ive been given thumbs down! my life is ruiiiiiiinnnned!
i cant belive thta people who actually think that a zombie is going to come to earth take them all away to a magical happyland and send the others to bad place where a bad man with horns and a tail will punish you! dont agree with me.
ive seen this somewhere before, its just like every other CULT .How do Christians know that Jesus was NOT a false Messiah?? Why are YOU convinced he isn't?
Please turn your attention to the Old Testament, with an impressive amount of prophecies.
Then move on to the New Testament (with over a hundred year gap - proven scientifically)
And the calculations that say that the chances of one man fitting all of these prophecies are like crawling on your knees, blind, across (either the entirety that is Texas, or more... not quite sure) and finding a single grain of sand.
Which is why we know.
Oh, and faith is somewhere in there. How do Christians know that Jesus was NOT a false Messiah?? Why are YOU convinced he isn't?
The things Jesus said, and the approach to religion he presented convince me. Jesus made pleasing God a matter of faith, not law. For example, Albanian Muslims sheltered Jews during the Holocaust, holding the ethos that to save one life will allow one to enter paradise. A Muslim today in Georgia killed his daughter in a honor killing because she wanted to divorce her husband. One is faith, one is law. Faith is about integrity, a higher calling, sacrifice of the base for the noble. Jesus taught this in a time marked by religious legalism (in Judaism) and theocratic excess (in Rome). He brought a whole new way of thought to the table, and personified it by his death. When questioned on law, he always responded by taking the matter to the next level. ';Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.'; ';Whoever offends the least of my brothers, offends me.'; Never, from anyone else, have I read such teachings.
By prophecy.
All that Jesus did was prophesied to be performed only by Messiah.
Based on the inherent law of prophecy, the person who succinctly fulfills the prophecies of the Messiah must be the Messiah. To date, no other person but Jesus of Nazareth has fulfilled those prophecies.

Jesus Himself told us how to recognize false prophets:
';15';Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.';
If we have to judge from His fruits, all we see is GOD, all merciful, compassionate, loving and powerful. This is how we know that He is the real Messiah
';know'; is a confusing word.
How do you know the sky is blue? Logically, the only thing you know is the fact that you know nothing except this rule, things which are true if this rule is true, and things which are true by definition. And, yet, you still continue to cling to the outdated belief that the sky is blue... (sigh).
Obviously, that's not the sky you're looking at, it's a huge blanket I put over the sky!
And yet for you, it's obvious that the sky is blue. Well, for me it's obvious that Jesus is the Messiah! There's no logical reason to think it, but there's no reason I've heard not to believe it, so why not? Better safe than sorry!
ITS SIMPLE REALLY, LET鈥橲 RECALL GENIUS:
ADAM AND EVE AT THE GARDEN OF EDEN, WE KNOW THE WHY IT WAS BUILD AND WHY JEHOVAH WAS DISAPPOINT OF MANKIND, RIGHT
THEN WE ALSO KNOW THAT AT THE BEGINNING OF TIME ONLY OUR CREATOR AND HIS SON (JESUS, REMEMBER JEHOVAH MADE HIS SON FIRST THAN NO OTHER THING). WE ALSO KNOW THAT JESUS WAS THE MOTIVATION OR THE ARCHITECT OF THIS SYSTEM AND HIS FATHER (JEHOVAH) WAS THE RIGHTFUL CREATOR OF ALL THINGS. GALAXY, PLANETS, ANGELS, ETC. ETC AND LASTLY HJMANS (WE WERE LAST TO BE CREATED AND OF COURSE THE ANIMALS AND PLANT, RIGHT)
WELL THEN, ADAM AND EVE STORY DOESN鈥橳 GO TOO FAR AS EXPECTED AND THE PROPHECIES OF THE MESSIAH WERE WRITTEN. YET MANY YEARS PAST FOR THIS TO HAPPEN AND ONE AFTER THE OTHER THE PROPHECIES WERE RIGHFULLY CREDITED. SO JESUS WAS BORN AND HE GAVE HIS LIFE FOR THE SAKE OF OURS.
NOW THE QUESTION FOR YOU IS WHY DID JESUS COME TO SAVE US, BEING THE SON OF OUR CREATOR HE COULD HAD ELECTED AN ANGEL TO DO HIS JOB, RIGHT?
WELL THE ANSWER IS SIMPLE, TOO JESUS WOULD BE THE RIGHT PERSON TO COME AND SELECT US TO THE RIGHTFUL OWNER; JESUS IS LIKE THE SHEEP KEEPER AND BEING THE ARCHITECTOR. HE鈥橲 GUIDING US BACK TO THE RIGHTFUL OWNER WHICH IS JEHOVAH.
BY THE WAY JEHOVAH IS THE REAL NAME OF OUR CREATOR AND IT SAID RIGHT FROM THE BIBLE.
While there are many proves - such as his miracles, and his resurrection from dead (something no other ';messiah'; has pulled off yet) - probably the biggest reason we know that Jesus was the Messiah is his fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy.
Thanks to the discovery of the Dead Sea scrolls in the 1950's, we now have copies of all the Old Testament books that were produced from 150 to 400 years before the birth of Christ. Contained within the pages of the Old Testmane are several hundred prophecies of who Jesus would be and what he would do.
Some time look at just one chapter - Psalms 22. Said to have been written by King David around 1000 BC (and know from the DS Scrolls to have been in existence at 400BC), it contains within the one chapter over two dozens clear references to events that happened to Jesus during this crucifixion.
1) The first and last words he would speak from the cross open and close the chapter
2) It speaks of his hands and feet being pierced before crucifixion had been invented
3) It speaks of the spear wound he would receive in his side
4) It speaks about how his bones would be out of joint, which is what causes the actual death during crucifixion
5) How the soldiers would gamble for his clothing
6) How he would thirst and call for a drink
7) The words his enemies would use to mock him
8) That none of his bones would be broken, like was done to all the others
9) That he would be buried in a rich man's tomb
10) That he would raise again from the dead
... just to mention a few of the more obvious ones.
Look sometime at the gospel of Matthew, first book of the New Testament. There he gives 60 directs quotes from the Old Testament of prophecies the Jesus fulfilled in his lifetime, and alludes to 30 more that he does not directly quote. That can not have happened by mere ';chance';.
Move on from there to the book of Hebrews, and the fulfillment of the Old Testament rituals found in the life of Jesus. Each one of the Jewish feast, holidays, and sacrifices has a direct tie to the events of the life of Jesus.
Together, they give us several HUNDRED prophecies about the Messiah that are fulfilled with the person of Jesus. That is pretty convincing evidence when you actually take the time to examine it.
lol to all these people saying he fulfilled the prophecies. well guess what...so did Muhammad.
anyone who studied these prophecies could have fulfilled them. he was a carpenters son, but during that large cap in the NT where Jesus went from 12-32 he was studying. he learned all about the prophecies and used them to his advantage. not that any one can even prove that he did any of it without quoting the book written by the people trying to set their own ideals into the world.
I met him! I didnt't take a man's word for it. I took him up on his invitation. So can you!
Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
You know, it really doesn't matter to me whether he was or not, I'm over all the nonsensical fuss about it..... I don't lie awake at night worrying about it.
What is important to me is that I learned a lot from what he taught. I'm not religious or christian. Just a regular human being. :)
John 7:31
But of the people many believed in him and said: When the Christ cometh, shall he do more miracles than this man doth?
Jesus fulfilled what is a mathematically insurmountable amount of OT prophecies during his first visit. The rest will be fulfilled when he returns. I highly recommend Lee Strobel's ';The Case for Christ';.
If you can't answer the points made there, it's time to reconsider.

i bet youve never seen your brain? then in your words, it probably dosnt exsist. But i bet you believe it because its documented that you have one or saw one on TV. TaaDaa!
All others who have proclaimed themselves Messiah have asked their followers to give their own lives for them.
I would think they use the same reasoning all the believers in all the other faiths use that CONVINCED them they are right too
of course they can't ALL be right can they?
Christ means Messiah=the anointed one=
Matt16:15He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
Most false prophets base themselves on a prophet that came before them. And according to Christianity, Jesus was the first actual prophet.
They don't KNOW it. They have FAITH. Which is essentially believing something without a shred of proof.
Jesus is nothing more than a character in a fairy tale.
False messiahs can not give salvation.
They really don't know, that's why they bring up FAITH, faith is simply trust, in this case trust in the writings of 3000 year old goat herders.
LOL some of these answers. Its like saying, well my great grandmother saw a flying unicorn when she was young and wrote it down in her journal so it must be true. Or she was trippin'.
350 Messianic prophecies have been fulfilled by Him.
He was raised to glory and power from the grave
and
He fulfilled messianic prophecy
His resurrection and the testimony of those who witnessed Him after His death...
that first answer is ridiculous...
talk about being controlled by satan
He is an evil fiction so he can be whatever a person wants
The back from the dead thing... Pretty neat trick for a false messiah.
CUZ WE HAVE HIS SPIRIT IN OUR HEARTS!!!!!!!!!!!
more than 3/4 of the world think he was a fake.
He is real i tell you!!!
I don't call My saviour a messiah i call Him Jesus Christ!!
Praise The Lord!!!!! :D
