Why are there people believing in False Messiahs?

It sounded pretty ridiculous to me. The Bible clearly warns people of deceivers claiming to be Christ. It's funny how those 'churches' can have devoted followers, I mean how could they disregard those warning verses, since they are also using generally the same Bible(s) used by typical churches.Why are there people believing in False Messiahs?
There are many churches that are as cold as the polar ice caps. Don't read their Bibles and rely solely on only a few passages of scripture as to not have to hear the stinging truths held with in the whole word of God.





Christians are supposed to be on fire for God, reading the word of God and hiding it in their hearts and keeping it with them.





Others are only luke warm and they are in danger of being spit from the mouth of God.





It all boils down to commitment, some are more committed then others.Why are there people believing in False Messiahs?
The short answer is this: they don't know what the Bible says, so how would they know? The only way you can tell that something is false is to know what the true looks like.





For example, did you know that NOT ONE BIBLE was found at Jim Jones' complex? What does this tell you?
And no doubt those you accuse of believing in False Messiahs would accuse you of the same thing.





To me, it makes most sense not to believe in any Messiah.
Why does every christian sect believe that the next christian sect is wrong, deluded and worshiping a false god, Yet they bow to the same God in the end.?
Religion is a really effective way to keep the world under control and not going crazy and killing people, stealing ****, and eating pork and such.
Let me know if your talking about the lds faith or mormons because i would be glad to give some insight on your concerns, if this be the case

For reals. People need to wake up and realize their god is false.

I suspect it's mostly indoctrination and fear of death.
