How come Jews wont read the Christians scriptures and see that the Messiah who builds the temple will be false?

Like, the Jews told me that the temple can't be rebuilt without the Messiah coming. Now we know that Jesus already built the temple in three days, and that temple was not a building made of stone, but He said it is each of us who are now the temple, and the apostle Paul backs that up. :)

But this Messiah that will come, is not a messiah, but the prophecied anti Christ. Who Paul said:

2 Thessalonians 2:4-5 (King James Version)

4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

5Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

So why wont Jews read the Christian scriptures and see that the Messiah that will build the temple is not Jesus, but the son of perdition?How come Jews wont read the Christians scriptures and see that the Messiah who builds the temple will be false?
answer: Paul was a Hellenized Jew that actually knew little about Judaism.

There will be no anti-Christ. According to your mythology - Jews could NOT fall for your anti-christ. It's written that he will perform miracles and be worshiped - Jews will worship no one but G-d and only G-d.

Your Christian scriptures PROVE that Jesus wasn't the Messiah.

Reasons Jesus wasn鈥檛 the Jewish Messiah

divine birth/divinity - strike (the Jewish Messiah will be human)

performing miracles - strike (JM won't perform miracles)

taking on the sins of others - strike (no one can take on the sins of others)

breaking Sabbath - strike (JM will be observant)

sacrificed/rising from the dead - strike (G-d rejects human sacrifice)

prophecies unfilled - strike (JM will accomplish them in one life time)

being worshiped - strike and out - Jews worship G-d and only G-dHow come Jews wont read the Christians scriptures and see that the Messiah who builds the temple will be false?
don't hold your breath. Christians have been waiting for over 2,000 years

It is a certitude that anyone claiming to be the Messiah will be a false Messiah as was Yeshua who fufilled none of the supposed Messianic requirements. There is no Messiah, was no Messiah and never will be a Messiah. It's nothing but wishful and grandiose thinking, not prophecy, on the part of Apocalyptic Jews who may wait till hell freezes and yet will never see a Messiah come.
i certainly agree with you. the temple will be built once the mideast signs the peace treaty. we will have the new world order out, only it will fail from the beginning. then the antichrist will come and ';fix'; the new world order, and build the temple. I think they know this. the building of the third temple is the leading sign to Christs return. I would help lay the bricks if i could. only because i can't wait to be with the Lord.
Probably because they don't accept your messiah, as you don't accept their faith.

Pretty simple isn't it?
oh dear oh dear oh dear

dont you realise that Jesus did NOT fullfill the Jewish prophecies , therefore is not THEIR Messiah

so why would they believe the bible ?

this makes no sense at all
Why don't you read an encyclopedia and see that you are wrong?

I guess they don't like the Bible the same way you don't like regular books
I will give you two guesses who is being very close minded here, and let me give you a hint, it is not the Jews
This is a rhetorical question, isn't it?

=/
They are jewish you idiot, they don't believe in your god man
You're a bit of a fool, aren't you...
Paul said that the 613 mitzvot were obsolete; the lifeblood of Judaism. It was also Paul who was the first the declare Jesus as the literal son of God, a statement that contradicted jewish law. The idea that the Messianic prophecies were all fulfilled on an internal level is very convenient. Any jewish interpretations are that they are to be external, and very clearly done in one lifetime.

Third Temple

Disarming of people

World recognizes Israel's God

All Jews return to Israel

etc.

The New Testament is not recognized by Judaism, so your point about a false messiah building the third temple is circular.

Paul was a Roman Jew with little to no knowledge of Rabbinic Judaism. The man could not even interpret Hebrew correctly.
The answer to your question entails a study of the End Times (eschatology) When Jesus comes for the second time, the church would have been already raptured (ref. 1 Thess. 4:15-18). So the church will be removed from the earth prior to the tribulation. In fact when He comes again the church will be coming with Him.

Therefore the purpose of the Temple would be for the purpose of redeeming Israel. The temple would be completed at His second coming where in comes fully to the earth.

This is a short answer to a long question. If I may make a suggestion. Get some good study material on end time events. That will give you a good timeline and sequence of events.
Clearly because Jewish people understand their religion far beyond the understand of even the most devout Christians.

When reading anything in the ';New Testament'; and certainly anything written by salesman Paul, it is clear that a religion is being marketed and justified. Of course Jesus may have stated that he had built a ';temple';, he knew and understood the scriptures and was in fact a rabbi, but he was using that scripture to elevate himself above the hundreds of his contemporaries who also claimed to be the ';living Messiah';.

It is clear that all you read is through the lens of belief and faith and not truth. Take off the lenses and read all again objectively.

Is Barack Obama Actually The 2nd Coming Of The Messiah, Or Is That A False Rumor By Cultists?

Hey everyone...

Im sure you've all heard this by now...but apparently ';Barack Obama'; in Swahili alphabet if taken numerically, adds up to 1,225...or 12-25...the birth of Christ. These same people claim that there are no known photographs of Obama at Columbia University where he supposedly ';went'; to college as an undergrad, no known photos between the ages of 19-25...during this 6 year period, there was a mythical creature sighted throughout the mideast in the High Hill Country, know as ';Nomadi Jachun';, or ';The Young Nomad';, who was described as a lone Bedouin, of an exotic ethnic dissent, roaming the deserts at night performing miracles. Nomadi Jachun's last sighting was March 3rd, 1986, the day before the first known adult photograph, of Barack Obama. Followers also point towards an almost hypnotic, involuntary attraction to his sounds and movements, consistent with Judeo-Christian Prophecy.

Is it possible, that Barack Obama, is ';Nomadi Jachun';, aka...2nd coming, of Christ?Is Barack Obama Actually The 2nd Coming Of The Messiah, Or Is That A False Rumor By Cultists?
hahahahahhahaha.. Thanks for a good laughIs Barack Obama Actually The 2nd Coming Of The Messiah, Or Is That A False Rumor By Cultists?
I knew it.... Deep down in my bones I just knew it!!

Hallelujah
You can't even be serious!!!!!

Did you actually make all of this up? Sounds like you have too much time on your hands....................

Read something educational...........
I had not hear this yet but now that I have I will call it what it is utter and complete nonsense and a waste of the 30 seconds it took to read it.
Oh Man!!! .... I thought it was Bill Clinton.
..........What????????
I went to school with Barack back in Hawaii, and I can say that he *is* Nomadi Jachun. ';Barry,'; as we used to call him, was the most talented, most visionary individual any of us on the islands had ever met. Barry's presence alone was enough to heal the sick and bring joy into the elderly. I don't know... he has a way with people which is mysterious and somewhat magical... and he could always recite passages from the Bible, but only the New Testament.

So in short, he is the Messiah.
What have you been smoking? lol
You know, if you look into something long enough, you'll eventually find evidence to support whatever it is YOU WANT to believe. It doesn't matter what it is!

If there was a rumor going around that Hillary Clinton is the reincarnation of Gandhi, if i didn't have a life and i looked into it enough, i would eventually find something to support my theory. Add some numbers up and twist some things around and you can come up with ANY theory.

So no it's not possible. Plus why would Christ come in any other form other than himself? He was born the first time as himself, why not the second time. He wouldn't try to conceal that he is the all mighty Christ. Otherwise why would he come at all, if people didn't know he was Christ?
Read my question I just posted, it gets even crazier!
Oh Gosh...here they go again!
That's really incredibly stupid.

Also, if you're going to believe that crazy crap, then why would he be running for president of the United States. That sounds more like what we should expect from the antichrist.... Even in crazy land this theory doesn't make sense.
LOL.. that is the best answer you will get out of me and the most i'll even pay attention to something like that
This is no lie--

I have a friend who is a very devout Catholic and believes he is the anti-Christ. I guess you can take numbers and prophecies to mean whatever you want. Of all the candidates, I think Ron Paul is the most Christ-like in his behaviors and history.
christ wasnt born on 12-25 and you can google obama at columbia...trust me he was there haha.........he is amazing though
sure why not. its just as likely as most of the stuff in the bible.

True or false is sailor Saturn evil since hotaru is the messiah of silence?

False.

Hotaru is the Messiah of Silence, partly in thanks to her dad (Soichi). When the explosion happened in the lab, it killed Hotaru and only injured Soichi. Pharaoh 90 happened to be there and took advantage of Soichi's grief and made him an offer - pretty much as long as Soichi worked for Pharaoh 90 to help bring about the destruction of the Earth, then the daimohn egg of Mistress 9 (who would open the portal for Pharaoh 90) would reside in Hotaru after she was brought back to life. The spirit of Saturn was later able to help Hotaru regain control of her body after Mistress 9 had awakened, so Mistress 9 was destroyed and Saturn awoke to put an end to Pharaoh 90 and killed herself in the process. She was reborn after having to sacrifice her own life to attack. That's the way it was in the anime. The manga isn't too much different.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_Buste鈥?/a>

Sailorsaturn is actually supposed to be the strongest of the planet senshi, even though she is physically the weakest, because she controls death/rebirth. She has the ability to destroy an entire planet when she lets her Silence Glaive fall, like in the manga when (as was already mentioned) she destroyed the remnants of the Silver Millennium to rid it of evil and allow everyone to be reborn.True or false is sailor Saturn evil since hotaru is the messiah of silence?
That is false, the evil part of her was Mistress 9 trying to bring Pharoah 90 to earth to bring the ';silence';.

A good way to look at it is Sailor Saturn brings ruin to the doomed in order for Sailor Moon to bring life

Per wikipedia:

Though a terrifying ability, Saturn reveals in the Sailor S arc of the manga that this power is necessary, because rebirth cannot happen without death. It was Saturn who destroyed the remnants of the war-torn Silver Millennium kingdom, allowing a new world to be born. At first, knowledge of her disturbing powers caused the other Outer Senshi to attempt to kill her unawakened form in the Sailor S arc. However, Saturn's awakening ultimately saved the world by forcing Master Pharoah 90 to escape to his former universe before being destroyed with Earth. Sailor Pluto then sealed the gateway to their dimension so that he could never return, and Super Sailor Moon used her powers as Neo-Queen Serenity to resurrect all that had been destroyed. Therefore, it can be inferred that Saturn will only awaken and destroy Earth when it is doomed, allowing the holders of the Silver Crystal to subsequently revive it.True or false is sailor Saturn evil since hotaru is the messiah of silence?
omg that avatar is sooo cute!^-^. false she's only evil at first (so dose that make it true?)idk but she's not evil.
false she is only evil at first...when she is fighting them she turns good...she was one of my favorites

I am Jesus, the REAL Messiah! Do you renounce your false gods?

The first guy was a fake. Trust me....

Did I make a believer out of you?I am Jesus, the REAL Messiah! Do you renounce your false gods?
Wow, people, PLEASE!

Get an effing sense of humor!

Oh, FYI Jeffd_57, lots of other people have been persecuted by Christians for refusing to convert. Do some research!

LOL!I am Jesus, the REAL Messiah! Do you renounce your false gods?
I have renounced all gods, for they are all fake. Jesus probably never really existed. There were many men claiming to be the Messiah over a century before Jesus supposedly lived and many more when he is said to have lived and just after. Various Roman and Jewish histories tell about that.
The ';first guy'; as you call him had over 360 prophecies describing his coming, where he would be born, his life and ministry, how he would die, his resurrection and his impact on this world.

Archaelogists have verified that those prophecies were written down hundreds of years before Jesus was born in Bethlehem and history shows that Jesus is the only person in history who has fulfilled all 365 of these prophecies.

Further more Archaeology and both religious and secular historians have verified that Jesus was a real historical person and they have verified many of the details of his life and times.

Can you document for me What prophecies exist about YOUR birth, life, mission etc and show me in what unique way YOU are the only person in history to have met all those predictions?

Can you give me a list of people who YOU have cured of their illnesses and afflictions or raised from the dead?

Have you performed any miracles in front of large crowds of witnesses?

Have you died and come back from the dead?

Have you made any prophecies about the future that subsequently came true?

Have your followers been tortured, imprisoned and executed to make them admit that you are a fake and were they so convinced that you were the real deal that they died rather than change one word of their testimony about what they had seen and heard you do?

If you can satisfy all those points with witnesses and verifiable details then maybe, just maybe you might make a believer out of me - so gimme your best shot, show me what you got, convince me why I should believe YOUR god over the God that Jesus told the world about?
no. just for the FYI, it is not funny to claim to be God, especially when you are making a joke outta it. don't worry, your punishment will come sooner or later.
I don't know, Jesus. The talking Spaghetti makes a convincing argument.
Tell me this: What is my real name, my birthday, the exact time I was born, and how I was conceived. Then I'll believe you
Sorry, if you were the real deal you'd be called Optimus Prime. You sure as hell ain't MY messiah.
Funny, the first guy said u would say that...
... ok, whatever
**** YOU!!! RELIGION IS BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not even close.
tell me how many hairs you have on your body.
get off the internet
nice try
will u get OFF the internets...
oh sure why not, I never even met that jesus guy
i thought that the jesus dude was in heaven !

True or False. In Christianity Jesus Christ is believed to be the Jewish Messiah and also Divine.?

In most Christianity

Not Ebionite or Unitarian and other such sects that follow either Arius or other early pre-church versionsTrue or False. In Christianity Jesus Christ is believed to be the Jewish Messiah and also Divine.?
Well, kinda of. I hate to be a semantic nit-picker, but in Christianity, they believe Christ was the Messiah the Jews were waiting for, but that we took a pass on him. So now he's the messiah for the Gentiles, but definitely divine (which is kinda what disqualifies him as the Jewish Messiah).True or False. In Christianity Jesus Christ is believed to be the Jewish Messiah and also Divine.?
This seems to be their belief but it's based on false teaching. Jesus does NOT match the description of the Jewish Messiah in the Hebrew Scriptures. The Jewish Messiah is mortal and is not be be worshipped. He has absolutely nothing to do with getting into heaven.

The Christian Messiah is a concept that was probably created by Paul by borrowing ideas from previous myths. He preached it to gentiles who knew nothing about the Hebrew Scriptures.
Christianity preaches Jesus is the Messiah and true God and Man at the same time. It's basic in christianity. No matter what the jews think about it. They have to repent and believe in Jesus if they want to see the face of their YHWH someday.
You are asking a question that Christians can never explain.

The old testament kingly messiah was not divine. Just another human being. They just avoid or evade the question.
Absolutely TRUE
I give that one a big T! Do I get a hundred?
answer: If you're Christian - true

If you're Jewish - false and absolutely blasphemous
Yes Jesus is the Messiah. He is divine. He is God's only son.
True, but they are not 2 separate beliefs as if the Messiah was not supposed to be divine.
True and false, depending on which sect of Christianity you ascribe to. There are Christians who don't think Jesus is divine.
Yes; Jesus was Jewish. He died for us and amde us free of our sin. He is very divine and he is the only way to heaven.
Messiah yes. Divine yes teacher and of the world
';Probably because it has nothing to do with R%26amp;S';

No stupid, thats the economy
true, the Messiah is to be Divine, they are one in the same.
True.
True.
True!
True
True!
TRUE!
True. What do I win?
Straight up, dawg
truth

True or False? Quran confirms that the Messiah died like any other Apostle before Muhammad. Quran xxi:7,8,34?

';Before you also, the Apostles We sent were but men, to whom We granted inspiration: if you do not realise this, ask of those who possess the Message. Nor did We give them bodies that ate no food, nor were they exempt from death.'; Sura xxi:7-8

';We granted not to any man before you permanent life; if then you should die, would they live permanently?'; Sura xxi: 34

The Quran is the Word of Allah revealed to the Apostle Muhammad.

Where does the Hadeeth take us, that gives us Messiah Isa ascending into Heaven in a Jesus manner, alive and unharmed from crucifixion, to come back down some 2000 years later in Damascus?

Can the sheikhs and imams deny the Word of Allah in the Quran or are they going to twist the arm of Jibreel to say that he got the wrong Message from Allah?

Whereare all these Jesus Muslims going on the Day of Judgment?

When will they give us an honest translation of the Quran?

Or does it matter since Allah is the Only Guide?True or False? Quran confirms that the Messiah died like any other Apostle before Muhammad. Quran xxi:7,8,34?
I'm not sure what Muhammad can really say about Galatians 1:8, which was written before he was born and which says that what Muhammad claimed would make him a false prophet:

';But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!';

Muhammad claimed he received the Q'uran from the angel Gabriel. But the book of Galatians was written hundreds of years before Muhammad was born. I'd have to say judging from the evidence that Muhammad was wrong.True or False? Quran confirms that the Messiah died like any other Apostle before Muhammad. Quran xxi:7,8,34?
I would like to add that I love Muslims as I do every other human being whom God has made. I just have major issues with the Quran.

idiot. you're just praying to be certified 'Village Idiot of the Day' award.

';Wa salaamu alaya, yauma walitu, yauma AMUTU, wa yauma ubasu hayya';

(Jesus said): ';And peace is on me, the day I was born, the day that I DIE, and the day that I shall be raised to life again';

Al Qur'an, Chapter 19: Verse 33

See? Now don't you feel like a fool, trying to misinterpret the Qur'an to a Muslim audience?
Do you believe everything you read? Christians try to

say Muhammad died a regular death, but Muslims say

he ascended to heaven like Jesus did.

So did Enoch, Elijah, and the word avatar comes from

India where they say there are people advanced enough

spiritually, that they take thier physical body with them

when they go to the spirit world. And and can come back

a reassemble it.

GOD/ALLAH is for everyone, despite man and his selfish,

false prides.
Messiah (Jesus)did die on the cross willingly for you and for me, but Praise His Holy name on the third day He arose from the dead and is alive for evermore.
That's not true. You're wrong because Christianity and Bible were modified right after Jesus Christ(PBUH) was taken to the heavens. He did not die(as Christians believe) he'll return before the Dooms day. He'll battle and kill the Dajjal and then get married. He'll lead Muslims and will rule for 40 years then he'll die as normal human.
It is amazing that such an ignorant fool like yourself was ever born. It is obvious you are an Islamic Fundamentalist who is on a mission to peddle gloom and spread descent. You kinky thing.

Before anything else existed, Jesus the Word already was.

The Word was in fellowship with God; in fact, the Word was God.

He was there from the very beginning.

It was through him that God brought everything into existence.

Not a single thing was created apart from him.

He was the source of all life, and that life has provided light for the human race.

The light keeps on shining in the darkness, and the darkness has never been able to put it out.

Onto the stage of history came a man whose name was John the Baptist. He was sent by God to tell people about the light so that they might come to believe through him. He himself was not that light, but the one who was to tell others about the light.

Sunset over ancient Moab

The real light, the one destined to enlighten everyone, was about to come into the world. When the Word did enter the world, the world failed to recognize him even though it had been created by him.

The Word came to his own creation but his own people would not receive him. However, to as many as did receive him -- those who believe that he really is who he claims to be -- he gave the privilege of becoming sons and daughters of God.

This birth was not by natural means, the result of a physical desire or a father's decision; it was a birth that came from God.

The Word became a human being and lived among us. We gazed on his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, sent from the Father.

John told everyone about the Word. He exclaimed, ';This is the one I was talking about when I said, 'There is a man yet to come who is greater than I because he existed even before I was born.'';

From his perfection we have all received one gracious gift after another. While it was through Moses that the law was given, it is through Jesus Christ that grace and truth have come.

No one has ever seen God. The only Son, who himself is God and dwells in the presence of the Father, he has told us about him.

--------------------------------------鈥?br>

John the Baptist says that he himself is not the Messiah but has come to prepare the way for the Messiah. John recognizes Jesus as the Messiah by the descent of the Spirit as a dove (1:19-34).

The religious authorities in Jerusalem sent some priests and Levites to John the Baptist in order to find out who he was. In answer to their question he admitted with all candor, ';I am not the Messiah.';

';Then who are you?'; they asked. ';Are you Elijah?';

';I am not,'; he answered.

';Are you by any chance the prophet we have been waiting for?';

';No,'; he replied.

';Well then, who are you? Tell us, so we can take an answer back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?';

John responded by quoting Isaiah the prophet, ';I am the voice of one calling out in the desert, 'Prepare the way for the coming of the Lord.'';

Now some of those who had been sent to question John were Pharisees, so they asked, ';Why are you baptizing since you are neither the Messiah, nor Elijah, nor the prophet we have been waiting for?';

';I baptize only with water,'; answered John. ';And although you do not recognize him, the one who is to come after me is right here among you. I am not worthy even to unloose the strap of his sandal.';

This exchange took place in the town of Bethany, east of the Jordan river where John was baptizing.

Near headwaters of the Jordan River

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him. ';Look!'; he said, ';the Lamb of God, the one who will take away the sin of the world! He is the one of whom I said, 'There is a man yet to come who is greater than I because he existed even before I was born.'

I didn't know that he was the Coming One; but I have been baptizing with water so that God might reveal him to the people of Israel.';

';I saw the Spirit,'; said John, ';coming down from heaven like a dove and coming to rest on him. I would not have known him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water said, 'The one on whom you will see the Spirit descending and coming to rest is the very one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.' I saw this myself and therefore declare that this man is the Son of God.';

Jesus turns water into wine at a wedding in Cana of Galilee (2:1-12).

Two days later, Mary, the mother of Jesus, was at a wedding in the Galilean town of Cana. Jesus had been invited to the wedding and we were there as well.

When the party ran out of wine, Jesus' mother said to him, ';They don't have any more wine.';

';I do not share your concern,'; said Jesus. ';My time has not yet come.';

So his mother said to the servants, ';Do whatever he tells you.';

Nearby were six stone water jars, each of which held some twenty to thirty gallons. The water was used for the Jewish custom of ceremonial cleansing.

Ancient altar for worshiping other gods

Jesus told the servants, ';Fill up those six jars with water.';

So they filled them to the brim. ';Now,'; said Jesus, ';dip some out and take it to the master of the feast.'; And so they did.

The master of the feast, not knowing where the water that had turned into wine had come from (but of course the servants knew), called the bridegroom aside and said to him, ';People normally serve their best wine first.

';Then when the guests have had a bit too much to drink, they bring out the less expensive wine. But you have saved the best until last.';

This miracle, performed in Cana of Galilee, was the first of Jesus' miraculous signs.

It revealed his divine nature and deepened our faith in him. After the wedding, Jesus went to the town of Capernaum for a few days with his mother and his brothers. We also went with them.

Jesus goes to the temple in Jerusalem and drives out the money-changers. He teaches that if they tear down the temple (his body) he will rebuild it in three days (a reference to the resurrection). The Jewish authorities do not understand (2:13-22).

It was almost time for the Jewish Festival of Passover, so Jesus went up to Jerusalem. There in the courts of the temple he saw people selling cattle, sheep, and doves for sacrifice. Others were sitting at their tables exchanging money.

So Jesus made a whip out of some pieces of cord and used it to drive them all out of the temple, along with their sheep and cattle.

He overturned the tables of the money-changers, scattering their coins in every direction.

To those who were selling doves he said, ';Get them out of here! How dare you turn my Father's house into a marketplace!';

Then we remembered what was prophesied in Scripture, ';Zeal for your house will consume me.';

At this point the Jewish authorities demanded of Jesus, ';Show us some miraculous sign that will prove you have the authority to do this.';

Modern Jew in ceremonial garb

';Tear down this temple,'; said Jesus,'; and in three days I will build it up again.';

';What!'; they exclaimed. ';This temple has been under construction for forty-six years. What makes you think you could restore it in three days?';

Of course the temple to which Jesus referred was his own body. Later, when Jesus had risen from the dead, we remembered that he had said this.

We believed the Scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken.

--------------------------------------鈥?br>

Jesus knows human nature and will not entrust himself to the enthusiasm of the crowd (2:23-25).

When Jesus was in Jerusalem during the Festival of Passover, many people saw the miraculous signs he was performing and became convinced that he was in fact the promised Messiah.

But Jesus did not entrust himself to them, because he knew what people were like.

He did not need any one to tell him about human nature because he fully understood what was in a person's heart.

Jesus tells Nicodemus that a person must be born again in order to see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus misses the point because his thinking is on a material level (3:1-15).

There was a man by the name of Nicodemus who was a leader among the Jewish people.

He belonged to the religious sect of the Pharisees.

One night he came to Jesus and said, ';Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God, for no one could perform the miracles that you are doing unless God were with him.';

Jesus replied, ';I tell you the truth, unless a person is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.';

Studying God's word

Nicodemus asked, ';How is it possible for a person to be born when he is old? Obviously you can't enter your mother's womb and be born all over again.';

';I tell you the truth,'; said Jesus, ';a person cannot enter God's kingdom unless he is born of water and the Spirit.

';Physical birth results in a physical being; spiritual birth, in a spiritual being. You should not be surprised when I say that all of you must be born again.

';The Spirit is like the wind, which blows wherever it wants to. You can hear the sound it makes, and there is no way to know where it comes from or where it is going. Spiritual birth is like that.';

';How could all this be?'; replied Nicodemus.

Jesus answered, ';How is it that you, a highly respected Jewish teacher, don't understand these things? I tell you the truth, we know that what we talk about is true because we saw it ourselves. Yet you people will not accept what we say. If I speak of things of the earth and you don't believe me, how will you believe me when I talk of things of heaven?

Judean desert

';No one has ever gone up into heaven except the Son of Man, the one who came from there. As Moses lifted up the bronze snake on a pole in the desert, so also must the Son of Man be lifted up so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.';

--------------------------------------鈥?br>

Jesus goes on to teach that the love of God is seen in the fact that the Son was sent into the world so that those who believe in him might have eternal life (3:16-21).

';This is how God loved the world: he gave his one and only Son so that everyone who believes in him will have eternal life and not really die.

';God did not send his Son into the world to pass judgment on it, but that it might be saved through him.

';Whoever believes in the Son is not condemned. However, the person who does not believe stands condemned already, because he has refused to put his faith in God's one and only Son.

';Light came into the world, but rather than loving that light, people chose the cover of darkness because what they were doing was evil.

';People who do evil things hate the light. They won't come near it for fear it will make clear to others what they are doing.

';On the other hand, those who live by the truth come willingly to the light. That way everyone can see that what they are doing is done in partnership with God.';

John the Baptist does not envy the growing impact of Jesus' ministry. Using the analogy of a Jewish wedding he acknowledges that he is merely the friend of the bridegroom (3:22-30).

Headwaters of the Jordan River

After his conversation with Nicodemus, Jesus and went out into the Judean countryside, where he stayed for a time baptizing believers.

John the Baptist had not yet been put in prison but was at Aenon, near Salim. There was plenty of water there, and John was baptizing the steady flow of people who were coming to him.

Some of John's followers got into an argument with a Jewish man about the practice of ceremonial cleansing. So they came to John and asked, ';Rabbi, the man you spoke about when you were east of the Jordan -- the man you said was the Lamb of God -- he is now baptizing, and people are flocking to him.';

John replied, ';A person plays no role in the eternal plan unless it has been assigned to him by God. You yourselves heard me say, 'I am not the Messiah,' but rather, 'I have been sent ahead of time to announce his coming.'

';In a wedding it is the bridegroom who takes the bride. The role of the bridegroom's friend is to wait and listen for his coming. When he hears the voice of the bridegroom he is overcome with joy. My joy is like that; it is absolutely complete. Jesus must become increasingly important, but I must fade away.';

Jesus speaks the words of the Father and those who believe have eternal life (3:31-36).

';The one who comes from above is above all others. The one who belongs to the earth speaks only of things of the earth.

The one from heaven is above all others. He speaks about what he has actually seen and heard, yet none of you accept what he says.

But whoever does accept his message has demonstrated his conviction that God is truthful. The one sent by God speaks the words of God, for God does not give his Spirit in limited measure.

';The Father loves the Son and has placed everything under his control. Everyone who puts his faith in the Son has eternal life.

But no one who disobeys the Son will share in that life, but will remain subject to the wrath of God.

Modern middle-eastern wedding

Jesus asks a Samaritan woman for a drink of water and then explains that he is the one who gives living water to all. Those who drink it will never again become thirsty (4:1-42).

The Pharisees heard that Jesus was gaining and baptizing more converts than John, although it was the other disciples and I who were doing the baptizing.

When Jesus learned about this he left Judea and started back to Galilee. His route took him through Samaria, and before long he came to a town called Sychar.

It was located not far from the plot of land that our ancestor Jacob had given to his son Joseph. That was where Jacob had dug a well.

About noon, Jesus, tired from his journey, sat down beside the well. A woman of Samaria came to draw water.

Ancient city ruins with Mt. Hermon

in the background

';Please give me a drink of water,'; said Jesus to the woman. (We had gone into town to buy some food.)

The woman exclaimed, But you're a Jew! How come you're asking me, a Samaritan, for a drink of water?'; (No Jew would ever drink from a cup used by a Samaritan).

Jesus replied, ';If you only knew the gift of God and who it is that is asking you for a drink of water, you would be the one asking me, and I would be giving you living water.';

The woman replied, ';But sir, you don't have a bucket and the well is deep. Where will you get this living water?

';Surely you are not greater than our father Jacob, are you? He is the one who gave us this well. He drank from it himself, and so did his sons and his flocks.';

Jesus replied, ';Everyone who drinks of this water will get thirsty again, but once a person drinks the water that I will give, he will never be thirsty again.

';In fact, it will become in him a perpetual spring of water welling up to eternal life.

';Please, sir,'; the woman exclaimed, ';give me some of that water. That way I'll never get thirsty again and won't have to keep coming way out here to draw water.';

Ancient harvesting

Jesus said, ';Go, call your husband first, then come back again.';

';I don't have a husband,'; the woman replied.

';That's right,'; said Jesus, ';you don't have a husband. Already you have had five, and the one you are now living with is not your husband. You told the truth.';

The woman said to him, ';Sir, I can see that you are a prophet! I have a question for you: Should we worship on this mountain where our ancestors worshiped, or should we worship, as you, a Jew, would say, in Jerusalem?';

';Believe me,'; said Jesus, ';the time is coming when the place where one worships -- here on this mountain or in Jerusalem -- will no longer matter.

';You Samaritans know very little about the one you worship; but we Jews know all about him, because salvation comes through our race.

';A time is coming -- in fact, it is here already -- when true worshipers will be led by the Spirit to worship the Father as he really is. And the Father wants people to worship him like that.

';God is spirit, and those who worship him must be led by the Spirit to worship him as he really is.';

A stone strewn field

The woman said, ';I know that the Messiah (who is called ';Christ';) will come, and when he comes, he will explain everything to us.';

';I am the Messiah,'; said Jesus, ';the very one who is speaking to you now.';

Just then we returned from the town. We were surprised to find Jesus talking with a woman. However, none of us asked her what she wanted or questioned Jesus as to why he was talking with her. At that point the woman put down her water jar and hurried off to town, where she told everyone, ';Come and meet the man who told me everything I have ever done! Could this man really be the Messiah?'; The people left what they were doing and went out to meet Jesus.

Meanwhile we kept urging Jesus to take some food and eat.

';I have a source of nourishment you know nothing about,'; he answered. We asked one another, ';Could someone have brought him food to eat?';

Jesus said, ';My food is to do what God desires. He is the one who sent me and I must finish the work he gave me to do. You say, 'There are four months between sowing and harvest'; but I say, 'Open your eyes and look around! The fields are already ripe for harvest.'

';Already the reaper is drawing his pay for having gathered a crop destined for eternal life. Sowers and reapers are rejoicing together. The saying holds true, 'One sows and another reaps.' I am sending you to harvest a crop in a field where others have done all the hard work. You are about to reap the benefits of what they have done.';

A number of people in that Samaritan village came to believe in Jesus because of the woman's testimony, ';He told me everything I have ever done!';

They came to him with the urgent request that he remain with them in their town for a time. So for the next two days he stayed there, and many others came to believe when they heard Jesus for themselves.

To the woman they said, ';We no longer believe just because you told us about him. Now that we have heard him for ourselves, we are convinced that he is the Savior of the world.';

Jesus heals the son of a government official (4:43-54).

Two days later Jesus left Samaria and continued on his way to Galilee.

Ancient synagogue in Capernaum

(Previously he had noted that a prophet is held in honor everywhere except in his own country!) When he arrived in Galilee he was welcomed by the people, because they too had been at the festival in Jerusalem and seen everything he had done.

Traveling through Galilee, Jesus came once again to the village of Cana, where he had turned water into wine. In nearby Capernaum there was an official of the imperial government whose son was ill. When he learned that Jesus had come back from Judea and was in Galilee, he went to him and begged him to come and heal his son, for his son was about to die.

';Unless you people see miracles and wonders,'; said Jesus, ';you will never believe!'; ';Please, sir,'; begged the official. ';Come before my son dies.';

';Your son is alive and well,'; replied Jesus. ';Go back to him.'; The official believed what Jesus said and set off for home.

While he was still on the way home, his servants came to meet him with the good news that his son had recovered. He asked them what time this had taken place, and they said, ';One o'clock yesterday afternoon the fever suddenly disappeared.';

The father remembered that it was at that very hour when Jesus had said, ';Your son is alive and well.'; So the official and everyone in his family became believers.

Jesus did this second miracle after leaving Judea and arriving in Galilee.
Jesus didnt die, however he will die, he wont live forever.

You want an honest translation of the Quran:

http://www.islamicity.com/mosque/SURAI.H鈥?/a>
i'm sorry i'm missing your point!!! where's the contradiction here?

in the Quran Jesus Christ is mentioned, in Hadiths he's is also mentioned to return but not some 2000 years later, only God knows when.

what's your problem?

and what do you mean by the Jesus Muslims?

and BTW, the above verse DOESNOT ';confirm'; the death of the messiah.

4:156-159 ';That they rejected Faith; That they uttered against Mary A grave false charge; That they said (in boast): 'We killed Christ Jesus The son of Mary, The Messenger of Allah.' But they killed him not, Nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjunction to follow, for of a surety they killed him not. Nay, Allah raised him up Unto Himself; and Allah Is Exalted in Power, Wise. And there is none of the people of the book (Jews and Christians) But must believe in him (Jesus) Before his death; And on the Day of Judgment He (Jesus) will be a witness Against them.';

  • Why don't Jews believe Jesus is the Messiah? Is Judaism a false religion because of this?

    Keep in mind these are not my views. I'm not Jewish! Here are 7 reasons they don't believe in Jesus (there may be more reasons):

    1. Jesus did not fullfill the messianic prophecies.

    2. Jesus did not embody the personal qualifications of the Messiah.

    3. Bibical verses referring to Jesus are mistranslations.

    4. They don't believe in the Second Coming.

    5. They don't believe in the Holy Trinty.

    6. Christianity contradicts Jewish theology.

    7. Jews don't want gentiles in their religion.

    8. Jewish belief is based on national revelation.

    Under the ideals of theology, Judaism is considered a false religion. Some Jews do believe Jesus is the Messiah. NOW, if the antichrist comes and fullfills what the Jews consider to be the qualifications of the Messiah, would the Jews embrace the antichrist? Tough question!Why don't Jews believe Jesus is the Messiah? Is Judaism a false religion because of this?
    Jesus didn't fulfill the messianic prophesies the way the Jews wanted the Messiah to...they wanted a vengeful retribution (OT style), not a ';man of peace and love';.Why don't Jews believe Jesus is the Messiah? Is Judaism a false religion because of this?
    Jesus has to be the messiah because even the book of Daniel predidcted it (daniel 9:24-27)

    Report Abuse

    There Daniel was told explicitly that Messiah would come 69 ';sabbaths'; (that is, 69 sabbatical years - a total of 483 years) after the decree was given to rebuild Jerusalem, which at that time lay in ruins after Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, had destroyed it.

    Let me preface this by saying I am not Jewish but I have friends who are and have lived in several Jewish neighborhoods as a child. For many Jews part of the identity of being a Jew is to not be a Christian. For some Jews Christianity is a heresy. One of my friends holds to this belief which makes for some interesting conversation. If there are any Jews who come to answer and disagree with this I apologize and please help me to clarify where I am wrong. You can do this by e-mail if you wish. Dear bandycats using the Jesus seminar as a referral source isn't such a good idea. These are the people who took a vote on which things Jesus said They eliminated anything that sounded Jewish or Christian. They determined that of the Lord's prayer He definitely said Our father'; They are not a good source to get information.
    There is no longer any standard for Judaism existing in the world today.

    All 8 of your points are based only on Jewish stereotypes.

    Traditional Judaism, if and wherever, or whenever it truly exists, is an incompletely true religion, that has not yet embraced the whole truth, relating specifically to Jesus Christ.

    Whether it ever will remains an open question to which only God has the answer.
    God has never picked a true religion. The religions have and they always pick themselves (what did you expect?). The faiths are now putting people through the ';true religion hysteria';. It's really religion competition in disguise. Don't let them fool you. The true religion must be named by God, not by a religion.
    Read Matthew chapter 23. This should give you some insight.

    Also, Matthew 13:10-15
    1) Absolutely- he has done any of the things I list below

    2) Absolutely- see the points I have listed below

    3) Yep- we have a very good knoweldge of biblical hebrew, as well as the knowledge of the plain meaning vs the alluded to meaning vs the legal meanig of the word- something that the gtranslators of the Tanach lacked.

    4) Correct- nowhere is there any hint of a second coming anywhere in the torah- even those who want to claim that there are two messiahs in Judaism cannot get round the fact thatunder that understanding one is mashiach ben Yosef (son of Joseph) and thus could not have been Jesus anyway- and the mashiach ben yosef is the IMMEDIATE herald for th mashiach ben David- there will be days, or at best weeks between the two- not millenia!

    5) Absolutely not- we are monothesist and stick to the Torah, proclaiming three times a day 'HEAR O ISRAEL, GOS IS YOUR GOD, GOD IS ONE!'

    6) Massive contradictions- from the nature of the afterlife, from how God punishes us (Judaism has a loving God that would not punish for eternity, Christianity has a vindictive God that inflicts eternal punishment!), to the understanding of the eternal nature of both the written and oral Torah

    7) Rubbish- anybody con convert to Judaism.

    8) Yep- we don;t believe in private revelation- the Torah was given to the entire nation- someone cannot come, perform miracles and try to change it- in fact the Torah, In Deuteronomy explicitly states that fact!

    Here is why we don't believe that Jesus was the messiah in simple terms:

    1) The dead were not resurrected

    2) The Jews did not beome priests to the other nations

    3) There is no world peace

    4) The temple is not standing

    5) There is no temple service

    6) There is no parah adumah or its ashes to render us tahor

    7) The messiah is from the House of David. your house/tribe is inherited from your father. Your father is your BIOLOGICAL father- there is no adoption in Judaisim to another father- if God is the father of Jesus- then Jesus cannot be from the House of David as God is not frm the House of David.

    8) Human sacrifice is completely forbidden in Judaism- remeber God stopping the sacrifice of Isaac? The idea of a human being sacrificed is the opposite of anything from Judaism!

    9) You have to atone for yourself! An essential part of the atonement process is being repentant. Someone cannot be repentant for you- you have to do it for yourself. ONly communal sins can be forgiven communally- not individual, private sins!

    And no- the messiah does NOT proclaim himself- he will be recognised by his deeds- not by his claims- in other words, through doing the above he will be recognised as the messiah. On top of that- mashiach is a HUMAN being, with HUMAN parents- the idea of an anthropomorphised God going around and impregnating young woman is completely alien to Judaism- though it fits very nicely into the pagan religions of the time which had their heroes being fathered by gods (ala Hercules and his daddy Zeus)

    As for Messianic Judaism, Jews for Jesus, Hebrew Christians etc, these are deemed as nothing more than Christian sects using deceitful means to convert Jews. EVERY Jewish denomination denounces these sects as Christians and nothing more. However, by Jewish law, once a Jew, always Jew- whether born or converted. Thus once a person is Jewish they are always judged by Jewish standards, and if they revert/convert to a different religion they are still considered Jewish by Jewish law. BUT, someone practising a religion other than Judaism is considered outside of the community, may not be a member of the community, receive any community honours, be a representative for the community, be buried in a Jewish cemetary, marry a Jew or be treated as a Jew for the purposes of the laws of mourning. However, since they never stop being a Jew- they merely have to repent, return to Judaism and go to mikveh in order to once again be a full member of the community.
    Why does this matter to you?
    There are NO Jews who believe Jesus was the messiah. To Jews, the belief that God would become human is the ultimate heresy!

    In order for Christianity to be *true* Judaism cannot be false! Jews do not need Christianity to explain their existence or their origin,

    but Christians cannot explain their existence without Judaism.

    .
    In the Old Testament it talks about Jesus 1st coming and also his second coming, and the Jews misinterpreted it and when he came for his first coming being born of the Virgin Mary, they didn't believe it was him, because they were believing he would make a big impressive entrance into the world instead of the humble way he came into the earth. They were expecting it with fanfare.
    Your question isn't so much tough as stupid. The ';Antichrist'; is, by definition, a Christian concept. Also, if this ';antichrist'; of yours fulfilled the qualifications of the Messiah, under what system of logic would he be an ';antichrist'; to Christians, much less Jews? Also, points 1 and 2 are redundant, 3, 4, 5, and 6 are inevitable if Jews don't believe in the Christian messiah, 7 is stupid beyond belief (Judaism allows conversions, but once you convert you're no longer a gentile--so no, there's no such thing as a Gentile Jew), and I have no idea what 8 is supposed to mean.

    Also, L'Chaim is correct, anyone who believes Jesus is the Messiah cannot by definition be Jewish. Therefore, it is impossible that ';some Jews believe that Jesus is the Messiah.'; Those people are Christians, not Jews.
    Well.....If your going to get technical every religion but your religion is a false religion because there can only be one true religion and nobody who is in thier given religion is in the wrong one .....ect.
    Jesus does not fit the description of the Messiah in the Tanakah, that's why
    1) Yes he did

    2) Expectations for the Messiah differed.

    3) No they aren't, I have translated them myself and they are not wrong.

    4) I haven't studied that matter in depth yet

    5) I don't believe in the Trinity either

    6) No it doesn't.

    7) Christianity was founded by Jews.

    8) ..... Yes because they were not guided by the Holy Spirit. They can be if they seek it.
    Under which ideals do you consider Judaism a false religion? It existed long before the two religions which borrowed heavily from it: Christianity and Islam.

    We do not believe in the trinity, as it is a pagan concept.

    We do not believe in a second coming, since our messiah will only have to show up once.

    Our beliefs are based on the revelation at Mount Sinai, in which 600,000 Jews were present, which validates our religion.

    We do not believe J*sus is the messiah; true.

    Who says we do not want ';gentiles';??? Although we do not seek converts, we welcome them with open arms!!!! And Judaism does make provisions for non Jews who do not wish to convert:

    http://www.noahidenations.com/content/in鈥?/a>

    And finally.... When our messiah comes, he will fulfill the following textual requirements:

    * The Sanhedrin will be re-established (Isaiah 1:26)

    * Once he is King, leaders of other nations will look to him for guidance. (Isaiah 2:4)

    * The whole world will worship the One God of Israel (Isaiah 2:17)

    * He will be descended from King David (Isaiah 11:1) via King Solomon (1 Chron. 22:8-10)

    * The Moshiach will be a man of this world, an observant Jew with ';fear of God'; (Isaiah 11:2)

    * Evil and tyranny will not be able to stand before his leadership (Isaiah 11:4)

    * Knowledge of God will fill the world (Isaiah 11:9)

    * He will include and attract people from all cultures and nations (Isaiah 11:10)

    * All Israelites will be returned to their homeland (Isaiah 11:12)

    * Death will be swallowed up forever (Isaiah 25:8)

    * There will be no more hunger or illness, and death will cease (Isaiah 25:8)

    * All of the dead will rise again (Isaiah 26:19)

    * The Jewish people will experience eternal joy and gladness (Isaiah 51:11)

    * He will be a messenger of peace (Isaiah 52:7)

    * Nations will end up recognizing the wrongs they did to Israel (Isaiah 52:13-53:5)

    * The peoples of the world will turn to the Jews for spiritual guidance (Zechariah 8:23)

    * The ruined cities of Israel will be restored (Ezekiel 16:55)

    * Weapons of war will be destroyed (Ezekiel 39:9)

    * The Temple will be rebuilt (Ezekiel 40) resuming many of the suspended mitzvot

    * He will then perfect the entire world to serve God together (Zephaniah 3:9)

    * Jews will know the Torah without Study (Jeremiah 31:33)

    * He will give you all the desires of your heart (Psalms 37:4)

    * He will take the barren land and make it abundant and fruitful (Isaiah 51:3, Amos 9:13-15, Ezekiel 36:29-30, Isaiah 11:6-9)
    Read about the Jesus Seminar, who searched for the real words of Jesus. They concluded Jesus never claimed he was God or the son of God. Other people made that up about him. Very interesting.

    Jewish people study their religion and religious origins and texts a lot more than Christians do theirs. After all, the OT IS describing a Jewish deity, and Jesus WAS a Jew.
    And YES all those things you listed about Judaism make it a false religion.
